MSc, PhD, and Postdoc Opportunities
Are you interested in contributing to climate mitigation and improving air quality through advanced research?
Do you want to build technical skills and gain applied experience for the low‑carbon workforce?
Do you want to work in a team-based learning environment?
Do you want hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge technologies for measuring greenhouse gases and allied air pollutants?
If yes, consider contacting us to learn more about MSc, PhD, and Postdoc opportunities in the SENST Lab in the Department of Geography at the University of Calgary.
We support a wide range of research projects across methane, super‑pollutants, and environmental sensing innovation. Current and emerging opportunities include:
Quantification of methane emissions from small farms and feedlots
Detection and quantification of H₂S emissions from wastewater, landfills, and oil and gas facilities
Methane emissions from inactive oil and gas wells and facilities
Development and application of aircraft‑based methane‑sensing system
Development and application of robotic/mobile leak‑detection system
Emissions quantification and source attribution from active and closed coal mines
Hyper-local mapping of super‑pollutants in cities and megacities
Development of next‑generation mobile sensing technologies for greenhouse gases and reactive air pollutants
If you are passionate about climate action, air pollution, atmospheric measurements, or innovative sensing technologies, please contact us.
